SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
I'm a 28 year old vocalist from Eastern Ohio and my focus is largely on hard rock and heavy metal. I was in a fairly well-liked band for four years and we did a few shows in Pittsburgh, but most of them were in Philadelphia or Columbus.
One of my best upsides is that I am a responsible person and my biggest downside is being a responsible person. I'm married with two kids, mortgage, car payment, full-time-and-a-half job, the whole nine, so my availability is limited. However, I would be able to practice two-three times a week if we did something in the early a.m. hours. I work evening shift and am off one day a week, but I have pretty good flexibility with respect to what day that is.
I would be willing to work a bit less if we are musically successful and lucratively successful, although, I probably would not reign in the work schedule until we had released an album and (hopefully) made some money off of that. Basically, any money that I would lose working less would have to be made up for with the music, and that rarely happens!
My time in a gigging band was 6-10 years ago, (band went for four years) so even though I have practiced singing and have recorded myself very often, I'm probably not as tight as I would need to be on many of my mechanics. I would imagine it would be anywhere from three-six months of practicing before we could put on any sort of meaningful live performance.
I'm willing to join a band that has already established themselves, but I would prefer to do something from the, "Ground-up."
I'd also like to say that my previous band broke up due to the drummer and lead guitarist re-locating to California. I am a very affable guy and like to work with my bandmates on the lyrics while basically leaving the musical end of it completely alone. I will admit that I tend to be the creative force behind the lyrics, and would prefer to be in a band where one person is the creative force behind the music because it's easier that way.
