EXPERIENCE & ACHIEVEMENTS


• Towards the end of February 2010, was afforded the opportunity of presenting material to Houston based Praise and Worship act, Isreal Houghton and New Breed.
• Was recently offered as of early March 2010, a co-publishing deal by former Urgent Records Christian artist/current record producer & owner of Highpoint Recording Studios of Lenexa , Joe Mills, in association with Evergreen Publishing for the original country/pop composition “Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong(with the right love spoilin’ me)“.
• Was directly responsible in introducing dancer/comedian/actor/artist/cartoon impersonationist, Matt Czech to professional contacts who are now attempting to secure a spot for this talent in the Las Vegas production of the musical “V” for Variety. ://./watch?v=xvrdK4TuJco
• Currently has fourteen songs placed with the legendary R&B group “Blue Magic” for use on their upcoming & future CD releases.
• Currently has four songs placed with the London based recording company, MAPP Records, and has been advised they are holding these songs for a future project.
• Currently has one song, “I’m ‘N Love”, being performed as part of the live stage act of San Francisco Bay area entertainer Ms. Taylor P. Collins. This artist has now been signed to Moiko Records.
• Currently has ten songs in marketplace with seven being performed regionally by Kansas City based independent R&B act “Double Exposure” and three being performed by St. Louis, Missouri native Sheila Alexander Calloway.
• Managed Kansas City based artist “Araina” resulting in major label interest from LaFace Records and Sindrome Records in the mid 90’s. Also co-wrote, co-produced, co-directed, co-edited and was set designer for the music video “I’ve Had Enuf“ featuring “Araina” that was shown regionally on American Cablevision’s “Music Showcase” television program. • Managed Kansas City based trio “IV Real” resulting in major label interest from Blacktie Entertainment/Capital Records in the early 90’s. Also co-wrote, co-produced, co-directed, co-edited and was set designer for the music video “Always” featuring “IV Real” that was shown independently across the nation on cable television and nationally on BET’s “Video Soul” with Donnie Simpson. • Co-Managed former Marvin Yancy/Chuck Jackson protégé, James Cleveland Choir lead vocalist and lead vocalist of the Interscope/Warner Bros. recording act “Truth Inc”, Derald Conway in his comeback attempt resulting in major label interest from Blacktie Entertainment/Capital Records in the late 90’s. Derald was also the singing voice for Robert Townsend in the film “The Five Heartbeats”.
• Former Business Manager, Producer, Composer, Lead Vocalist and Musician (percussions) for R & B group “Poetry In Motion” throughout the late 70’s and early 80’s.
• Was lead songwriter for late 80’s Detroit, Michigan R & B vocal group, “Somerset“, who at the time, had a recording deal pending with RCA Records.
• Former Business Manager, Co-Lead Vocalist, Composer, and Co-Producer for R & B trio “3PM” resulting in major label interest from labels Motown Records and Total Experience Records in the mid 80’s. Was also responsible for securing and becoming one of only five acts handled by professional management team from Detroit, Michigan, attorneys Leona & Leonia Lloyd ( Double L Management ), who were the team behind the 80’s groups “Ready For The World“ and “Kiara“. Was also the only act not from the Michigan area that was managed by Double L Management at that time.
• Was composer, co-lead vocalist and co-producer on trial 1988 single “Till This World Comes To An End”/ ”We’re 0n A Roll” that was to have an east coast release through the efforts of Double L Management by MCA Records.
• Was composer, vocalist and co-producer on the 1985 demo recording of the song “In The Midnight Hour“ with then KCMO resident Perry Tell, who would later become a member of the Sire/Warner Bros. new wave recording act “Figures On A Beach“.
• Was presented in summer of 1982 with opportunity to meet with and discuss possible management with team behind soft rock act Air Supply by former ABC Records executive Hal Yoergler. Offer was declined because of Los Angeles relocation requirement
• Was in late 1982, with five songs being considered, primary song contributor for the debut Capitol Records album of KCMO native Derald Conway.
• Helped develop & nurture musical career of Kansas City native and former Flyte-tyme Productions’ background vocalist & co-lead vocalist of the Ruffhouse/Sony Records 90’s group “Four Sure“, Joey Elias.
• Helped develop careers of KC natives & current Los Angeles based session musician/writer Mark Lomack and session musician/writer, former record executive Eric Hayslett of Los Angeles independent rap label Cream Factory Records. Also, indirectly encouraged the local cover band “Grand Jury” to begin writing original music. This band would later become the Perspective Record’s act “Low-Key” in the early ‘90s.
• Was, in summer of 1973, presented with the opportunity to meet with and discuss possible staff songwriting opportunities for Quincy Jones and his newly created label Qwest Records. Offer was declined to begin college studies.
• Was presented in 1994 with the opportunity to write with Isaac Hayes on the musical score of the independent film “Ninth Street” by films’ writer/owner Kevin Willmott. Offer was declined because of Memphis, TN five month relocation requirement.
• Had small but credited acting part in the national direct to video film release “Ninth Street“, starring Isaac Hayes & Martin Sheen.
• Has been mentored and or advised over the years by Entertainment Lawyer Kendall Minter, former ABC Records President, Hal Yoergler, former Polydor / Motown Records executive, Russ Regen, Rapcoalition CEO, Wendy Day, CD Baby founder, Derek Sivers, Exact Image CEO & former booking agent, Mi-Ling Stone Poole, Platinum Millennium CEO, Ty Cohen and recording studio owner, Chuck Chapman.
• Owns and operates Poetry Kinda’ Music Publishing and A Drop A’Raina Music Publishing in association with ( B.M.I. ) Broadcast Music Inc.
• Owner of Dreamin’ Out Loud LLC., a Christian entertainment company
• Has had many poems published in the “National Library of Poetry” book series, been offered several single song publishing deals and has bio listed in many national reference titles including “Who’s Who in the Midwest“, “Who’s Who in America“, “Who’s Who in the World” and “Billboard’s International Talent Directory“ among others. Has written over 1500 songs.
