"The songs pound and slam, and though the heavy, feedback-laced throttling might not be too many people's idea of pop music, PWD definitely knows the power of a riff and a hook, and many of its songs deftly stick in your memory as well as your solar plexus.
There's the short and punky "We're Still Beaten," the grungy, throbbing "Goodbye To Me" and the ominous groove of "Salvation." Ives' vocals moan, intone, howl and screech, and the timbre of his singing voice can recall Ash Bowie, making PWD sometimes sound like Polvo's stoner-rock cousins."
