Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Other Percussion, Violin.ABOUT
I am a former professional musician, just recently relocated to Batesville, Arkansas. My wife is the new Director of Campus Life at Lyon College here
I am a classically trained percussionist, who was a member of the Air Force Band of The East for 4 years. I taught jazz drumset in midtown Manhattan for several years at The Sounds of Joy Music Studios, (now with The Drummer's Collective.)
I read music extremely well, and am well-versed in a variety of world percussion, including but not limited to: congas, djembe, irish bodhran, dumbek, frame drum, berimbau, shekere', and tablas... I also own all of these instruments.
I'm also an excellent improvisationalist, as improvising is a particular love of mine, I suspect based in my jazz background.
Bottom line: I'm a player, pure and simple. I'm available for the right gigs and the right people...easy as that.
I'm new to Batesville, and would like to start meeting and jamming with other local musicians for recording and live gigs.
