Rated M is a next generation cover band, blending an exciting stage presence, contemporary songs mixed with classics and stimulating interaction with the audience. We are currently looking for high-energy, dynamic individuals who are committed to excellence, driven to push the edge and focused on providing the audience with an experience that will leave them breathless.

Rated M is looking for the best musicians in the Denver & CO Springs Metro Areas. Here are the areas where we need you:

Percussion Requirements

- Attention to detail on reproduction of sound and style

- Experimental with effects

- A people person

- Willingness to learn more modern music

- A good practice regimen

- Driven and hard-working

- High-Energy - Able to put on a show

- A love for entertaining the crowd and not just a desire to be the center of attention

- A quick learner

- Open to edgier music (It’s necessary to clarify here. Some of the music we will be playing is more adult in nature, but still very mainstream in appeal, such as Crazy Bit** by Buck Cherry or Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit. This is only a small part of what we will be performing, but if those songs are offensive to you, this isn’t a good fit.)

- Interest in playing approximately 50 to 70 shows a year

- Willingness to play in the Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs Metro Areas, as well as occasional long distance shows (Nebraska & Wyoming for example)

- A desire to push the envelope and try new things

- An understanding of the value of marketing and promotions

- Availability for practice at least once a month

- Vocals definitely a plus

- Familiarity with basic musical structure and terminology

- Ability to play all kinds of music and tailor the sound to meet the style, e.g. Ska, Rock, Country, Blues, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Funk, etc

- Comfortable playing with dual bass pedals

- A wide range of effects and proficiency with using and switching between them

- Ability to play Electronic Pads (Much of our music uses effects from a Roland SPD-S Drum Pad to add more authentic sounds

- Congas, Bongos, and Timbales a plus

- Comfortable playing along with a sequencer (We have a few songs that have sequenced tracks)

Michael Covairt, former percussionist for "Phat Tuesday" and "Brothers from Different Mothers" in the Tidewater, Virginia area. Michael Gourley is the former bassist for Tiny Barge, with 27 years of playing and touring experience, including tours in Europe. Chris Allen manages and provides the marketing for the band, with over 10 years of graphic design, sales and promotions experience.
