My luck has improved and I'm now playing with a great group of guys and we're doing exactly what I had previously listed below. We do still need a 5th member who can ADD HARMONY VOCALS and contribute on some other instrumet(s). If you play, guitar, keys, sax, mandolin, pedal steel, violin or anything other than bass or drums and CAN SING, please get in touch!
Guitar player with pro gear and no ego or issues seeking like minded players/vocalists to rehearse once or twice a week for fun and leading to playing out occasionaly. Mainly interested in doing great and UNDERPLAYED covers from bands such as: Stones, Wilco, Gomez, Beatles, Neil Young, Los Lobos, Van Morrison, Boneshakers, World Party, Oasis, Beck, Black Keys, Crowded House/Finn Bros, Radiohead, Jellyfish, ABB, Dr. John, Bowie, Savoy Brown, Hendrix, Elvis Costello, Dylan, Ryan Adams, Replacements, Steely Dan, Clapton/Cream/Blind Faith, Traffic...you get the idea. I'm open to playing originals, but I personally don't write. I think a band is nothing without a great singer, so if that's you, please respond! I gave up the idea of being a rock star a long time ago. I would be like to be in a kick ass band again though.
I have thousands of CDs, so my tastes are quite varied, but the common elements are great songs, great melodies with soul and a bit of an edge to them. I do not want to play all the "obvious" songs from these artists. I know much of what I listed are older classic artists, but I'm a fan of many new artists and am open to playing any great song in the Rock, Brit Pop, Alternative, Americana, Blues, Blues/Rock, Folk or similar genres.
Lots of guitars..electrics, acoustics, dobro, lap steel. Fender Twin and small Mesa Boogie. I also have a small but decent lighting rig.
