ABOUT

Hello! Rebels in Stereo, an established rock band with punk, power-pop, metal, indie influences, is looking for a second guitarist to join the fold. Each member has their own influences brought in and make it work to create a distinct sound, so most importantly, we're looking for someone who is open-minded and enjoys the genres mentioned including whatever they like. We would also like someone who can both play rhythm and lead guitar to share and interchange with our other guitarist (he LOVES dual harmonies). Backing vocals are a huge plus as they are quite important to our overall sound. We would also love for you to bring in your own influences and have it meld with the creative writing process of our songs. Stage presence is also a huge plus.

We try and gig 1-2x a month, depending on offers... sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. We're writing a new record, so we got plenty to do in between. We practice once a week up in the north suburbs. Not looking to quit life or day jobs unless it becomes a sustainable job, which is not the main goal. Just love making music, hanging out, and seeing where the road takes us.

Also, someone who is over 21 is a must as we mostly play +21 gigs.

Influences

The main influences are Tsunami Bomb, Against Me! (the older stuff along with TGDB), Heartsounds, The Gaslight Anthem, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Bayside, System Of A Down. . . more or less something with an old school tone that just pours out emotion with great songwriting, raw guitars, great melodies with a bit more of a modern vibe to it as well. Basically, a wall of punchy guitars and pop sensibilities. We may also go as aggressive as Bad Religion or Heartsounds.
