Band to Join.

ABOUT

I've been in several bands over the years, but I've been out of the music scene for a while and I miss it. I've only been in a couple bands that recorded or played out, most notably Rochald and the Amazing Squids! and Life of the Party.

I love ska. I love screaming on the trumpet and singing. I want to join or start a band and play out.

I studied music composition for a year at UMass Dartmouth and a semester at UMass Amherst. I am currently the house composer for a production company, Quixotic United Productions.

I want to be able both to take it seriously and to have fun. There's nothing worse than when no one takes practice seriously, except maybe taking it way too seriously.

I was in the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and Orchestra in high school and college. I won MVP trumpet at IAJE my senior year of high school.
It must be noted that the most recent recording of my horn playing is from 2009 (age 19). "Burning Lee's Stuff" was written and recorded when I was 14. And my time in Life of the Party was from ages 15-17.
Since leaving Life of the Party I've played with several bands, but just as a sit in at a show or two. I worked at a music store for over 2 years where I tested all the new brass instruments that came in. I've mostly been composing and learning songs for my own entertainment the past few years.

I don't know how messaging works on this site, so feel free to contact me more directly at my address or email rnickerson89 at gee-mail dot com.
