About
Drummer Richie Dale was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He relocated to the great State of Texas in 1978. A devoted music fan from a very early age, he was moved by teenage musical influences, such as Rush and Iron Maiden, to begin playing percussion in high school. He was performing professionally by the age of 17, and now has over 20 years of experience in the live music business.
Richie joined 2nd Wind in early 1999, spending a year with the band and quickly establishing himself as a fan favorite for his energetic playing style and Southern-Rock-influenced vocals. He remained with the band until its initial breakup later that year, and moved on to form two other popular band, the Ballistics and Richie Dale and The Roadies with guitarist Craig Tilley. They played the Houston area developing a loyal following until their break up in 2001.
Influences
Now counting Stevie Ray Vaughn and Arc Angels' drummer Chris Layton as a primary influence, Richie Dale brings a dynamic mix of Southern Rock, Texas Blues, and old school Rock & Roll to any musical project. He has proven his versatility with his performances on various recording projects, as well as on albums from Houston-area bands Drexl, 2nd Wind and underground punk legends The Hates.
