Rick Flores started dabbling with music at an early age deejaying and mixing it up on turntables for 15 yrs. Mixed Italo, 80's dance, High Energy, New Wave, Industrial, Freestyle and 80's, 90's House music.
Rick Flores also produced and recorded 3 house records. Beginning with producer Rodney Baker along with partner Joey Fernandez called "Pump The Bass". Than recorded "Hip House Hustler" and "Rest In Peace" with the legendary Power Juvenile (later be called PeeJay" and Joey Fernandez. This music also lead to indirectly changing house music and revolutionizing how music was to be arranged and mixed using analog synth and bass sounds. (Listen to the records and you will hear it's influence on house music of that era).
After getting tired of the House Music scene Rick Flores began to record, produce and create Hip Hop trax and was one of the pioneers who helped create the hip hop production team called The Molemen. Rick Flores also worked with Vakill, Makadamian Thorne, Grim Nefarious, Maestro, X Chromosome, Connect Flow and the fastest rapper on the planet Rebel X D. Rick Flores taught The Molemen how to sample, edit, program and arrange their music before he left due to creative differences within The Molemen.
Rick Flores got tired of the Hip Hop scene in Chicago and decided to challenge himself by learning how to play real instruments rather than sampling them. He taught himself how to play the drums, guitar, bass, and engineer (while doing some research as well as working and learning from others throughout the years).
Rick Flores plays guitar in an acoustic/rock band called The Root Cause and continues to play a large role as one of the songwriters and arrangers of the songs they play. Check out The Root Cause fan page on FB as well and check out the latest music which was recorded "Live At Martyr's".
