The Rockerific Story

In 2006 Rocco D'Ambrosca graduated high school and went off to college with a brand new self-customized Fender Stratocaster and Fender Blues Jr tube amp. Originally starting on a Fender Squire Strat in 7th Grade, his increasing obsession with classic rock and passionate love of music demanded better equipment if he'd ever realize his now 5 year old dream of playing in a band. Away at college, Rocco soon discovered the abundance of free time allowed much more ability for practice and growth as a guitarist. Over the next two school years, many songs began to be written and recorded as demos.

At the beginning of the summer of 2008, Rockerific was born from a collection of Rocco's high school and childhood friends using the accumulation of song demos recorded in his dorm room the previous school year as a basis for the band's music. The first band lineup consisted of Rocco on Vocals and Lead Guitar, Emmett Marsh on Rhythm Guitar, Jaycee Appi on Bass, and Andrew Tomasello on Drums. The band's first rehearsals took place June through August of 2008 with Jaycee departing the band at the end of the summer to focus on his own solo projects. At this point the band decided to take a break as Andrew left for his first year away at college.

Over the winter with Andrew back home from school, the band was able to continue rehearsals with the band's first show taking place at Chef's Table in Fairfield, CT on Feb. 15th. Rehearsals and live performances were then again put on hold with Andrew's departure from the band to focus on school. The band's last show of 2009 took place on July 26th again at the Chef's Table in Fairfield, CT but with Jon Allison filling in on drums, helping the band fulfill a commitment to a booking made before Andrew's departure. Efforts were then refocused towards writing and recording, with Rocco taking it upon himself to record all guitars, bass, drums, and vocals while serving as his own producer, arranger, and engineer.

After Rocco's college graduation in May 2010, the decision was made to put off Law School temporarily so that a musical career could be more freely pursued. This resulted in the founding of Rockus Records, Rockus Publishing, and Rockus Studios to help facilitate such a career. The new studio has been operational since July of 2010 and has given the band their own private workspace to develop and refine new and existing material. During the fall of 2010, Emmett departed the band due to conflicts with work.

By the beginning of 2011, Rocco began efforts to reform Rockerific and return to live performance. On March 26th the band returned to live performance with Brian Goetsch on Rhythm Guitar and Nate Dobas on Drums, playing a show at the Webster Underground in Hartford, CT, with Nate leaving soon after the show to focus efforts on his teaching career and drum studio. The band then subsequently gained Carl Durazzo on Drums and Justin Wentworth on Bass playing the band's second show of 2011 on June 10th at Lilly's Pad/Toad's in New Haven, CT. The band then again went on break as both Carl and Justin were forced to leave due to conflicts with work.

On June 9th, 2012, Rockerific's debut album, Dreams of Love and Life, A Paradise Nightmare, was published on the band's website in demo form allowing free unlimited streaming access of the complete 25 song, two part, double album.

In early July 2012, the band was greatly privileged to welcome Jordan Rippe as the band's new drummer in addition to the very welcome return of founding band member Emmett Marsh now on bass guitar.

On August 18th, 2012 the band returned again to live performance with the newly established rhythm section of Jordan Rippe on drums and Emmett Marsh on bass, giving an excellent inaugural performance with the band's new lineup at The Space in Hamden, CT.

Rockerific continues to write, record, and perform...
