Been playing 30 years, guitar (also sing). Looking for fellow players/band who wants to play for the love of the music- meaning, not to "make it"- gigs a few times a month, covers (altho with the right people, originals as well)... but most importantly because they LOVE IT and want to HAVE FUN. I'm into MANY types of music: rock, blues, country, old jump blues, rockabilly.... I would love to find an Americana/retro/jump blues/honky tonk/outlaw country type band (or other players)... that's something we do not have around here. We don't need any more "classic rock" bands lol.
I haven't gigged in awhile, but have played 100s of gigs over the years. Very comfortable live. I can also sing, backups and lead. But I'm looking to be the lead player/co-lead player in a band (who can also sing some)
Ideally, I'd love to be the lead player and sometimes singer in a ball-bustin', honky-tonkin', roadhouse band, playing stuff that "swings"- everything from Sun Records to rockabilly to traditional country to outlaw country to jump blues to western swing to some "regular old rock and roll". I can see a setlist containing everything from Elvis to the Stray Cats to Asleep at the Wheel to Jamey Johnson to JD McPherson to the Georgia Satellites to SRV to BB King to ZZ Top to Johnny Cash.

As a guitar player- Brian Setzer, BB King, SRV, Richie Sambora, Billy Gibbons, Jonny Lang, really too many to list. I come from a rock background, but am really into more retro stuff these days.
As a songwriter- Springsteen, Adams, Mellencamp, Bon Jovi, Willie Nelson, many others
What I'm listening to these days: JD McPherson, BB King, Brian Setzer, Sirius Outlaw Country, Sirius Bluesville, western swing, Cousin Harley, Jamey Johnson, too many to list- my ipod is packed, with every genre EXCEPT hip-hop and rap.
EQUIPMENT
I'm a guitar player. I've got gear to support myself live. (no PA, just guitar gear) I've also got a garage to rehearse in LOL
