I have played piano since I was 8 and guitar since I was 17. I play pretty much whatever I feel like, and I mostly learn stuff by ear. I played with a band for two years and did a handful of solo gigs after that, then played for another band "Earths Collide" for a year, and now I still play solo (just piano/vocals) out in Pittsburgh's excellent indy music scene. I have also taken four semesters of college level music theory and arrange/write music.

Influences

My original music has solid hooks and satisfying harmonies that are characteristic of pop music, but also ventures into jazz, rock, and other sounds. In addition to my originals, I play all kinds of popular classics, including Billy Joel, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Queen, and Boston. I also play more contemporary crowd-pleasing hits by Jamie Cullum, Ben Folds, Owl City, Michael Buble, and Death Cab for Cutie.
