Hello! My name is Salena and I am a guitarist/songwriter/vocalist. I am looking for a band. I have been playing guitar for appx. 12 years on and off...I took a few years off during my college education to become a drummer. I can play the bass and drums but my passion always goes back to singing and playing the guitar. I put in my years playing the girl with a guitar during open mics in my early twenties and discovered the incomparable (for me at least)passion of playing with others in my mid-twenties. I have been in two serious bands, recorded on different projects and albums, and completed a small NW tour. I recently moved to Philly to pursue my musical ambitions. My musical influences range from Nirvana to Sebadoh and Elliott Smith to Cat Power and Modest Mouse to the Killers. I grew up on the classics, thrived on the Cure, and decided to move to Olympia on Built to Spill. I want to play powerpop/indie/epic rock. I am in search of level-headed yet completely dedicated musicians. If you are interested in learning more or have any ideas of where I can meet other people that you think might be interested, please let me know.
