About
I just wanna be in a band! I can sing, play drums/percussion, and have played clarinet/bass clarinet in the past (but not since the late 80's/early 90's). I've also sang in the Church I went to, both in the youth and adult choirs. I sing now when I'm listening to a good Cd, something on the radio, or something we're forced to hear at work - if you know what I mean by that last part - where they play the same set songs like 50 million times, until it's pounded into your head, lol!
I FINALLY got a drum set, yeah, it's a mixed-matched set that I got from the local Goodwill store, and it's what they call an 8-piece drum set...which basically is 2 drum sets (one regular sized, and one kid-sized) all mixed together. So, now, I have 5 toms, and a bass drum (still need a snare drum, but the smallest sized tom actually sounds like one, lol), a snare drum stand, and a part of a cymbal stand. All for like 30 bucks too! And, 2 "cowbells" that are from the sales to support CMN outside the Oakwood Walmart...
Influences
If you can read about them in either (or both) Modern Drummer or DRUM! mags, then you'll know who they are, as well as Larry Mullen JR. from U2!
Equipment List
I have some el cheapo drums that I bought at the Goodwill in Oakwood. 5 toms and a bass drum, 3 adult sized toms, the bass drum and 2 toms are from a child sized kit. No real bass drum or snare drums, and not a bit of cymbals at all. A snare stand and a cymbal stand. All for 30 bucks...not bad, but not really workable either, lol.
One day, I'm going have a kick arse drum set (probably from Pearl, since I'm a member of Pearl Drummer's Forum, & the peeps from Pearl are the nicest dudes with the highest level of commitment & will stand behind any &all instruments, drums (set & marching, as well).
About music and bands: I really just would love to be in a band. What style of music played, really doesn't matter to me at all! If you want to contact me,then email me. I will get back in touch with you as soon as I possibly can! Have a great day, my friend(s)!
