WE ARE SEEKING A 4TH MEMBER!!! BASS, VIOLIN,CELLO, KEYBOARDS....SOMETHING!!!!!
Hey,
My name is Tim Scritchfield. I am the guitarist/singer/songwriter for Phoenix based band SAWCELLO. We are a 3 piece alt/folk/hard rock band and we have been together (with this lineup) for a little over two years ( myself and Scott go back about 4 years as a folk duo in small bars, coffee houses and bookstores etc.) We are , and have always been "bass-less" This has gone from being our "shtick" to being a hole in our sound. We have thought about trying out bass players before, but gig after gig we are told that we have a fairly unique sound because of the lack of a bass. We don't really agree with that anymore. We know that we have a pretty full sound because of the dual lead vocals and vocal harmonies, but there is just a lot missing in our opinion. We have gained a good reputation as a very entertaining live band and we gig consistently. We have 4 shows coming up in April. We rehearse weekly, every Sunday (usually all day).
Unfortunately, even though we are a working band, we have not been able to get into a legitimate studio. But, we are slated to go into Flying Blanket studios in late April/early May, so for now all I have is a you tube vid of one of our shows from more than a year ago. Sorry for the poor quality, but you can get at least a basic idea of what we do. We do almost strictly originals and have about an hour set of just originals. The style goes back and forth depending on what guitar (acoustic, or straight solid body electric) I have in my hands. Some of it is quite folky while some of it is very distorted and loud and obnoxious. The best way to feel it out (for all parties involved) is to just try out.I have included a link to one of our vids and my cell number and e-mail contacts
here is the link to the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA7o2i09lfg
