Three buddies, (two of whom have played in a local rock band for years) have been doing a fun acoustic jam with upright bass, acoustic guitar, percussion, and other instruments. We play acoustic versions of 60s' through 90's songs, from Stones to more obscure stuff -The sound isn't real "bluegrassy" per se, but we like the mix of different acoustic stringed instruments used to cover a fun mix of songs. We envision playing at happy hours, coffee shops, etc. -- fun & interesting background music.
all across the board - stones, gram parsons, camper van beethoven, byrds, police, beatles, love and rockets, marshall tucker, rush, maiden, etc. - a pretty wide variety of music; if its fun and we can make it work, it's in the list.
A basement bar-room full of acoustic guitars, basses (dreadnaught acoustic and upright) - banjo, banjitar, mandolin, dobro, various drums, percussion, bongos, pinball machine, air hockey, washboard, etc.
Upright bass player (who also plays some mando and guitar) - percussionist (djembe, cajone, everything else that makes a pounding noise) guitarist (who also dabbles with banjo, banjitar, mando, dobro.
