ABOUT

* Update 11/23: Looking for pro-level FEMALE BACKING VOCALIST (SOPRANO) to join the re-formed, melodic-prog-meets-AOR band, Days Before Tomorrow. WE ARE SIGNED TO MELODIC REVOLUTION RECORDS.

Days Before Tomorrow is an award-winning progressive rock band in the vein of Styx, 80s-era Rush and Yes, Kansas, Marillion, and Porcupine Tree, throw in a hint of Dream Theater. Band has re-formed after more than a decade, writing new material, with lots of ambitious plans.

We have a new EP, another in the works, a new label deal, and more. Most of our songs feature multi-part vocal harmonies, and a number of them have female solo lead parts as well.

Are you familiar with the vocal contributions of Robin Clark to Simple Minds? Or Oleta Adams in Tears for Fears? Throughout time, some of the biggest acts in pop and rock have been male fronted with female vocalists who added an essential layer to the songs. Pink Floyd music had essential female backing vocals, too! And we embrace that same musical pairing of female vocals to our male-fronted band.

This role is great for someone who may presently be a lead singer in a cover band who would like to be part of an original recording act, or just someone who wants to focus on this exclusively. And if you happen to also play an instrument, we can probably put your multiple talents to use.

We rehearse/write one night per week in my private pro studio near Boonton, NJ, sometimes alternately in Flanders. We don't require our backing singer to work with us weekly, but you would be more than welcome to if desired.

Again, this is not a bar gig band. And, we're respectful of peoples' day jobs/careers, but all want to make this a success. And that means making this band your first priority of the various other music gigs you may also choose to pursue.

You can hear our music on all of the streaming sites, check out the new EP "Now and Then Part II" and the classic album "The Sky Is Falling" from Days Before Tomorrow as we perform music from both of these in concert. (yes, we have shows lined up, too)

If you cannot point us to links of samples of your playing in any former or current bands in any genre, you're not at the level we need. We each have numerous records and thousands of gigs behind us in total.

About Scott:
I am a professional musician, recording artist, and producer. I am equally at home on stage playing guitar or keyboards. I sing backing vocals and have custom in-ear monitoring. All gear is top flight, state-of-the-art stuff for both guitar and keyboards, and tour ready.

I was co-founder of the melodic progressive rock band, Days Before Tomorrow (sold over 10,000 copies of our debut, award-winning album). Here, I play guitar.

I am co-founder of the progressive pop band, Dream Eternal Bliss, along with Derek Davodowich, my co-guitarist in Days Before Tomorrow. I play keyboards (primarily) in this band.

I am editor in chief of MusicPlayers, the online magazine for serious musicians, and author of the popular Hal-Leonard book, "Modern Guitar Rigs: The Tone Fanatic's Guide to Integrating Amps and Effects." (get it on Amazon, 2nd Edition)

I am available for recording projects, producing, or pro touring opportunities. scott at musicplayers dotdotdot com
