Metropolitan area band SHADY GROOVE and a hot new single called “All I
Want to Do” and a new CD entitled “Tell Me”. Most noted for their cadent a slick harmony, the sweet soulful sound of SHADY GROOVE, resonates with the spirit of GO GO, R&B, and Jazz…& funk Much of the band’s music is originally written arranged by a band of writers and producers.
SHADY GROOVE is an ensemble of distinctive and passionate vocalists whose styles merge into a smooth and melo blend of harmonies. The band is from the downtown section Alexandria Va. The band was born out of shared love for music and has always had an interest in singing. Each member of SHADY GROOVE. has been musically active in and around their hometown. Steve Thurman, writer and producer, feels the SHADY GROOVE .’s blend of talent has the feel of a truly divine undertaking their synergy is fantastic, in addition to singing; each member of the band is talented composer and lyricist, and all the result of the collaborative writing efforts.
It is members’ strong commitment to family, God and community, which inspires their deeply personal and emotive style. As individuals, Steve, Kevin, and Tony & B.G. represent a versatile range of vocal expression, experience and influence. Their unique talents to generate a fresh new sound that still preserves the rich tradition of the past.
Having honed their talents and vocal ranges though experience with local groups and talent showcase; the group has no problem meshing sexy and interesting lyrics rhythms with moving and romantic messages. Song such as “You Really Need Me” and “The Way to My Heart” can take control of their emotions. Shady refuses to create songs and degrade women and sing uplifting such as “Long Way Up” (to make it to the top!).
