ABOUT

I am currently in the band Burn Permit, an active classic rock/blues/soul/funk band in the Sonora area. We average two to three gigs (sometimes more) a month.

I am a lead guitarist and studied music and theory throughout college, and continue to study theory/song writing. I have excellent gear, and I have singing experience; however, I prefer to just play guitar and let the singer sing. I love classic rock (Zeppelin, etc) 80's rock (Van Halen, etc), and even some Southern Rock (Black Crowes, Blackberry Smoke), and I also like Motown/Funk/Soul. I love hard rock/metal (Metallica/Iron Maiden), but it's not really the type of music I would be interested gigging. I have a style that might be considered bluesy, melodic, and a bit funky at times. I am very serious about playing and I work very hard at trying to constantly develop my technique. I'm always looking to meet others who are interested in meeting other musicians. I play guitar and write music every single day, and I have studio/recording experience. If you are looking for someone to fill in at a gig, write with, or maybe throw tracks down on a song you are recording, shoot me a message. I might even be willing to travel. Not really interested in a garage band or jam situations, unless it was to see if there was a musical connection.

The songs I put on here involve me basically noodling around on a few instrumentals I put together a couple years ago. I'm not sure why songs keep getting removed from the site, but maybe someone thinks there is a copyright issue, I don't know. The recordings are not really the style I play in a band situation, but it was me just having fun with a multi-track recorder. I have more current songs I've recorded, but haven't had the time or the motivation to put them on here yet.

Influences

Satriani, Bonamassa and Hendrix probably have the most influence on my playing but Jimmy Page is my favorite.

Guitars: Strats, PRS, Taylor (accoustic/electric). Amps: Deluxe Reverb, Marshalls. Effects: Stomp boxes/pedalboard. Right now, I play through a Line 6 Helix direct to the board.
