SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
I'm a vocalist in the Champaign-Urbana area. I'm trained to sing classical music, but love to sing rock and blues. I have a big voice with a wide vocal range. I'm looking for artists to form a band with or to fill a spot in an already established band. While I always think playing music should be fun, I'm very committed to getting things done and learning the music. I'm an extremely hard worker, and often work in my free time to make sure I'm ready for actual practice. It's been a dream of mine to start performing around the area, and I know I have the skill and drive to do so. I just need some dedicated band members to collaborate with me. I'd be okay with performing covers or originals, and I've written a few original songs myself. I was in a band in college, which broke up since most of the band graduated and went their separate ways. Since then, I've tried to sing and jam around town, but nothing has stuck. Mainly due to scheduling problems or members moving away. I know once I find people willing to put in the work, we could be successful. Finally, I feel if performers don't look like they're having a good time, then the audience won't either, so I like to take a lot of influence from Freddie Mercury when it comes to performance. Meaning, let's have fun, and make some awesome music in the process. Who's with me?

Influences
Janis Joplin, Parlaimant Funkadelic, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Fleetwood Mac, Black Keys, Amy Winehouse, I've always loved Queen. Basically, anything blues or funk related, with a little bit of classic and modern rock mixed in. I'm a bit of an eclectic, especially when it comes to blues and rock. If it offers the opportunity for the instrumentalists to jam and for me to sing my heart out, I love it.

Shure 58 microphone, an acoustic guitar I would love to learn how to play, and some auxiliary percussion: tambourine, maracas, and egg shakers.
