Watson Kain is more of a family than a band; since Todd and Mark are brothers and are cousins to Scott who is married to Heather. We love to record and always call on our friends to add anything from French Horn to Bass to whatever you can imagine. We enjoy the art of creating music rather than being in the rat race of playing gigs though we haven't ruled them out. Although we have been playing together for close to 15 years we continue to evolve as musicians and as a group. We only need to find a regular bass player and drummer to complete our group.

Watson Kain has been made better by the contributions of these former band members and guest musicians. Contributors include the incredible bassist Matt Carroll, guitarist, engineer, and luthier Dave Pace, my brother and long-time clutch drummer Brent Watson, eccentric shoe-less virtuoso Glenn Workman, drummer Brant Lego, United States Marine, White House Band Stage Manager and French Horn player Rich Dickerson, unintentional creator of the band and violinist Shannon Peach, drummer Hassam el Fikki, amazing guitarist Jason Heiger, bassist Joe Wolfe, violist Christina Greene, songwriter and vocalist Mary Barlow, multi-talented musician, songwriter and long time friend Father John Rapisarda, and drummer Jay De Witt.

Influences:

Our influences are pretty varied, I love everything from Metallica to Alison Krauss with some Joe Satriani thrown in to offset the Mew, vomit some Enya all over the Pink Floyd and finally clean it up with some Gnarls Barkley and that might be close. My wife Heather who started out as a classically trained violinist who can also sing, play guitar, piano, viola de gamba, and percussion all of which she hates equally, has now become a hick and loves county music and any sappy chick singers like Tori Amos or Dixie Chicks. I won't even get into the Monster Trucks... Mark is into a mix of eclectic to progressive able to emulate Nickel Creek on the mandolin as well as able to flow on the keyboard to the most complex Dream Theater. Todd's influences include Ani di Franco, Mae, Keane, Coldplay, Dashboard Confessional, Postal Service, and Something Corporate.
