The newest addition to the burgeoning Hyde Park (Chicago) underground metal scene, SOLECISM fuses elements of melodic, progressive, and technical death metal to create an original sound: intricately structured, brutal and yet beautiful. SOLECISM began with brothers Allen (guitar, vocals) and Scott (drums) Nelson in the summer of 2004. Combining diverse influences in a form that is somehow coherent and intuitive, SOLECISM's music strives to be technical but not showy, melodic but not compromising, progressive but not cerebral.
