About

UPDATED PROFILE -- 4/24/2012

I'm a keyboardist and singer for a local acoustic duo, as well as lead singer/keyboardist for a rock cover band in the St. Pete area. On the side, I'm looking for a band or acoustic project to earn a little extra cash. I'm interested in playing out at night (happy hours or evening gigs). Day gigs may work as well, as long as they are on the weekends.

If you are looking for someone to fill in now and then on keyboards, or even just to add keys for a special gig, contact me. I may not be the best keyboardist on the planet, but I can certainly hold my own and play a lot of the songs that people want to hear.

Our acoustic band and cover band are going great and just starting up-- and we plan on playing out once or twice a month. In the meantime, I'm willing to play out with another band or duo or trio and add to your sound. Tell me what you're looking for.

Influences

I like it all-- though some music I'm not necessarily interested in listening to more than a few songs a day (i.e., country, hip-hop, metal, etc.). I wouldn't mind singing/playing a *little* country, but metal is too hard on my voice.

The music I currently have playing most days on my iPod is, but not limited to:
ABBA, AC/DC, Aerosmith, A-ha, The All-American Rejects, The Bangles, Beatles, Better Than Ezra, Billy Joel, Black Eyed Peas, Blind Melon, Blondie, Bob Marley, Bon Jovi, The Cars, Chicago, Christine Lavin, Concrete Blonde, The Cranberries, The Cure, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Dire Straits, The Donnas, The Eagles, Elton John, Evanescence, Fall Out Boy, Freiheit, Garbage, Gwen Stefani, Green Day, Guns n' Roses, Heart, Hole, Henry Phillips, Indigo Girls, Jefferson Airplane, Jet, Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, Journey, Justin Timberlake, Kansas, Katy Perry, Kenny Rogers, The Killers, KT Tunstall, Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin, The Lovehammers, Maroon 5, Melissa Etheridge, Michelle Branch, My Chemical Romance, The New Pronographers, Nirvana, No Doubt, Pearl Jam, Prince, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Shakespear's Sister, Sheryl Crow, Storm Large, Supertramp, Tom Petty, Tracy Bonham, Van Halen, The Wallflowers, Weezer, The White Stripes, and lots more-- including theatre/musicals/Broadway, too!

I like mainstream music-- and on occasion, I will find an artist with an entire album that I fall in love with. Currently, that album is: "The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance. I'm also leaning toward Muse these days. (That doesn't mean I want to PLAY these artists... but I enjoy them.)

I want to have FUN going out and playing/singing-- not the same ol' same ol'.

Contact me here on bandmix, or email me at jlegner(at) too. Don't worry if I don't respond right away. I like to research and weigh my options. :-)

Equipment List

I have two keyboards on a stackable stand, and I can bring my own direct boxes and cables (if needed). I would prefer to use your microphone for singing, but I can also bring my own mic (if needed).

I can sing better than a combination of Fergie and Jesus.... but I'd like to mostly sing back-up and play keys for someone for these fill-in/spontaneous/random/every-so-often-but-not-too-often gigs. ;-)

So.... whatcha think? Message me!
