"Southern Current" needs a new 'face' up-front!

Mobile-based band would like to add someone who has real presence in their performance and knows how to 'work' an audience. Powerful vocals are important but we need a showman/emcee also. We have other members that sing so you'll get a break, however having a good ear for harmonies is required. Eventually we will be adding backup vocalists, keyboards and maybe even brass so ability to work with vocal team(s) will be critical for larger shows.

We're also looking for background vocalists, a keyboardist, and brass section . Vocals a plus, of course - forming a dance/party/revue version of the group with good cross-section of motown, classic r&b, funk/disco, and whatever else fits. We're looking for larger venues to perform this at.

Influences:

We're a versatile group with lots of influences including classic rock, blues, country, motown/r&b and modern stuff also. We play a lot of different gigs from bars and clubs, festivals, private parties, fund raisers, and hopefully soon casinos and mardi gras balls (the real money! lol).

Equipment List:

We have complete PA and lighting gear, ect for most shows.

Our demo has just been finished and we're ready to start scheduling gigs once line-up is in place. Majority of our shows pay, some very well, but a couple freebees appear on the schedule now and then; these are special events that may be for charity, ect.

Members Of Band:

The average age of the band is 40ish and we all have families/jobs, which come first of course. We try to accommodate 'prior commitments' as long as they're reasonable and do not interfere on a regular basis. If you're willing to put in the effort, we will do our best to keep you working, (and hopefully making good money too).

We practice once a week, either a weekday evening or weekend, depending on your schedule, we're pretty flexible.
