Back in Tucson, to the desert where I grew up. I've been in Chicago for the last ten years, working across the boards as a carpenter and electrician to pay the bills, as a musician to feed the soul. Extensive harmonica experience from sweet home blues with several random musicians on the fly to indy-rock screamin' harp with the now extinct "Orson's Well."
Playing bass for a little over two years now, mostly self-taught but with a little edification from the Old Town School of Folk Music, one old jazz cat, and my fellow musicians learning on the jam. Most recently with "Roundhead," which is now "Petting Sophie."
My style is about the roots. Give me your scale and I'll improvise until something sticks. Not much for reading sheet music, but tab is easy enough if you have something specific. I play alone in practice, which means my bass lines sound way too busy for most traditionalists, but everything is organic and open to modification.
I am seeking something hard to put into words. It's the music that counts, after all. See my influences for style.
