I am a singer-songwriter performing musician. I tend to get labeled "soulful folk". ..but my reach is much further. My focus and strength seem to be uplifting lyrics, heartfelt vocals, acoustic guitar, hand drums, and a few off-the-"beaten"-path instruments. I also enjoiy doing extremely "peacefully passionate" performances of "spoken word" poetic works from my seven published volumes. I love to mix blends of hypnotic and otherwise captivating music with poetic "spoken word"... to make it even more condusive to letting much of the depth of the words "reach" people at the heart and soul level. * * *
Overall, I just love to make the "vibe" / "spirit" soul-moving connection happen with people through "sound"...whether it be pure sound (I also do "sound healing" work.), or uplifting words and soul-soothing muisic. I have a deep sense of "calling" about what I do. Would love to work with others who feel deeply that they'd like to make a difference in the world...and the hearts of people...through music, sounds and words....and most of all..."coming from the heart"...in all they do.

As to specifics in what I'd look for in other musicians? It's more about attitude than anything. People who are really into creating music for the JOY of it. Not stuck in EGOic, complacent, or crazy-competitive modes. Flexible...as much as possible...Finding ways to create "win-wins" that work for each person. Sure, talent is important, and I'm always looking for ways to improve...and encourage the best in others. But it's our attitude...how we care about what we do... that's the "heart" of what we share as musicians, isn't it? I'm open to collaborating with a band, forming my own, or creating just the "right" blends in some other way.

Influences
I tend to lean toward acoustic sound, but I'm very open to just the right KEWL electronic sounds as well. Some of my favorite music influences would be... John Denver, Loreena McKennitt, Alanis Morissette...and many others, I'm sure. Many influences from "World", "New Age", and "Ambient" music... also, much folk (think "world" traditional, native american, celtic, and much more), PLUS... country, bluegrass and blues all have left their "touch" on me, but most of all, I BLEND...and love to find ways to make new and unique blends...with others who also enjoy playing with and tweaking the sound till we come out with something uniquely refreshing and refreshingly unique. (Maybe something good enough to "take to studio" [i.e., lay tracks, mix down, and get it "out there" ...or even possibly, "take it on the road". Most of all, just "going with the flow" of seeing what wants to be "birthed" through us...and staying "in the Joy" of creating and performing...and "see" what happens!)

Yes, I'm SO "on my own path". For me, it's not about the styles, per se. It's ALL about what's "coming through". The "soul" of the music, if you will. That's what my focus tends to be on nearly always. Sure, I enjoy jamming and just making music "for fun" (e.g. "Drumming Circle", etc.), but even in that ( or may be especially in that) the "zone" of the natrual music high...that lifts the spirit...and soothes the soul...is pretty much what I'm "after". I feel that, whatever it is that moves ME...and opens me up to the best "vibes" (of love, peace and joy...and all the good stuff!) most likely will overflow and move some other hearts in the flow of what's "coming through". I enjoy being with others who "get" that, instinctively...and are ready to beam some "light" around!

(Yes, there's a motivational, spiritual, "uplifting" essence to the music and message I'd like to make much more of...in collaboration with "like minds". However, it's not meant to be religious "dogma" of any kind. it's just a compelling desire to want to be a source of encouragement and uplifting others on THEIR path...whatever it may be, if it springs from the heart...and comes from Love. It would be great to work with others who have a similar passion to use music in an uplifting way.)

I AM AN EAGLE
I AM AN EAGLE Track number: 2 Year: 2008 Album: "Eagle Possibilities" Genre: Folk
One of the early ones. Very "unplugged". Sound and Mixing could be much better, but hopefully you get the feel of SOME of my style as vocalist, messenger and storyteller. (I feel I perform it much better now...including a third verse....but am "way" behind on making recordings. Would enjoy working with others who can help make great music and recordings "happen".)

ONE WITH THE SUN
ONE WITH THE SUN Track number: 4 Year: 2008 Album: Eagle Possibilities Genre: Other
A rare blend of storyteller verse and vocal chorus blended with intiruguing blends of keyboard and layers of varied chants, vocal singing and even a bit of inspired laughter. Shows some of the many directions I reach for in music. This was an odd blend, I admit, but seemed to work, somehow. Looking forward to exploring many traditional and "world music" sounds as well as more progressive electronic sounds...all for the effect of creating uplifting music and/or carrying the vocals.

BEINGNESS
BEINGNESS Track number: 3 Year: 2009 Album: "Chants Encounter" Genre: Other
This is a sample of some of my "poetic music" blended pieces. Although this one's lyrically quite "over the top" in going "mystically" deep, you get the idea of some of the fun I have with blending music and poetic performance. I'm hoping to explore much more with the possibilities of these blends--especially in collaboration with others. I'm into...and am open to...many variations on style and substance, but usually tend to go for the "substantial" side of lyrical depth and meaning. This one's "under deep" on lyrics, but is carried along by some rather intriguing music. (All vocals are my own.)

THE WONDER, JOY OF YOU
THE WONDER, JOY OF YOU Track number: 5 Year: 2009 Album: "Chants Encounter" Genre: Other
This is another one of the "Poetic Music" blended pieces. Two Poetic works, "I See in You" and "Ripples of Reflection" combined into one musical piece, "The Wonder, Joy". Though it's got that oldies crooning feel, it has been well received by those who appreciate this level of "heartfelt" words and music. (Sure, musically, there's SO much more I'd like to do, and I'm pretty sure it will be in collaboration with others. I'm in the process of taking things to a whole 'nother level...and am open to many variations on the theme... just keeping it real and heartfelt. ('Cause, hey...what's music...without "heart"?)
