About
Hey everyone! Music has been main passion for as long as I can remember, however it's specific role in my day-to-day activities has been shifting. At one point I was a jazz performance major, dropped out to join a professional pop rock touring group, left the band to get my Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy and now currently work various music therapy positions around the city. I've consistently been in bands or collaborating with various ever since... until I moved to the city last June!
I'm looking for someone or a couple musical people to collaborate with whether it be songwriting or just playing some covers. My musical training and background ranges from classical to jazz to pop to really any genre you could possibly want to play, but lately I've been leaning toward folk rock (see influences). I can sing fairly well and give voice lessons, but wouldn't consider myself a professional "lead singer" caliber singer and prefer to sing backup.
I hope to hear from you soon! Shoot me an email at stefan dot benkowski at gmail dot com if you'd like to get together and see if things gel! Thanks!
Influences
Lately I've been heavily influenced by great folk rock: Anything Dallas Green, Mumford and Sons, Tallest Man on Earth, Bon Iver, Iron and Wine, Nickel Creek/Dixie Chicks/Chris Thile, Fleetwood Mac, Head and the Heart, The Shins, Sufjan, Fleet Foxes, etc.
But I also love good pop rock: Copeland, Coldplay, MuteMath, Florence and the Machine, Eisley, anything Ben Gibbard, Guster, Keane, Passion Pit, Phoenix, etc.
Equipment List
A really great Breedlove acoustic electric and soon buying some sort of weighted keys Yamaha keyboard
