Influences

Stephen John Paul's first piano influences came of all places from Yanni. And while his current style does not reflect this music, Stephen retained the intricate flowing patterns employed by the New Age Pianist/Composer. Other influences include Yes, Genesis, Rush, and Dreamtheater where he gets his progressive rock feel and song forms. In particular Stephen claims large influence from Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman (to this day Roundabout). Other musical influences include: Third Day, 3 Doors Down, Chick Corea, Herbie Hanncock, The Allman Brothers Band, Kansas, Daughtry, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mutemath, Bob Marley, The Eagles, Journey, The Beatles, Aerosmith, The Who, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and others.
