ABOUT

David Ostrem hails from Milton, MA and holds a BM in Music Education from New York University. David has been playing bass since 1998, starting as a primarily electric player but later moving on to the upright in high school. He is involved in several working bands in the NYC area including The Nikhil P. Yerawadekar Quintet (NPYQ), American Popular, The Jed Feuer Quintet, The Elana Justin Group, Little Australia and The Kate Bartoldus Swing Band. He has also performed in several off-Broadway musicals such as "Infertility-The Musical That's Hard to Conceive" and "Jesus Hopped The A-Train". David's influences include Jaco Pastorius, Eddie Gomez and Larry Grenadier. He has studied with Ron McClure, Mike Richmond and Mordy Ferber. He plans to remain in New York and pursue his rapidly growing musical career.
