About
I am a bassist with many years of stage and studio experience. Thankful for the amazing musicians with whom I have worked, I consider myself a somewhat-above-average player blessed by circumstance. That is me thumping bottom on all the above music samples. Hope you enjoy'em.
Photos to the left are recent. Am fortunate to look young for my age (got carded until I was 33). Always exercising both body and mind. Have been playing rock and roll since 1964. Got to open for The Bob Seger System (with band The Nightcrawlers) and The Allman Brothers Band (with band Sweetheart). Got to meet Greg Allman and bassist Berry Oakley (two months before his accident). Met Steven Tyler, who liked Sweetheart so much he quite generously funded getting us into Columbia Studios. Nice guy. Our guitarist in Sweetheart was the amazing Adrian Belew, who went on to play with Zappa, Bowie, King Crimson, and more. After a break from Sweetheart I decided to pursue an information technology career. It was only about ten years ago that I came back to my first love, thumping the bottom end. So, I got my tiny hiney back on stage. What a hoot. I'm rocking with a great little band called Fat Cat Daddy (www.fatcatdaddy.net).
Bandmix limits us to three music genres but, in addition to Alternative/Modern Rock, R&B and Classic Rock, I have enjoyed playing some southern rock, a tad bit of country, funk, blues and even some light jazz.
Always open to making noise with good players, if you are such and are so inclined, give me a holler. It is both fun and stimulating to support new musical ideas. And, for me, playing a get-down-and-get-back-up-if-you-can funky riff is not quite as nice as being with my gorgeous better half ... but it is darn close.
