SEEKING
Band to Join, Acoustic Guitar, Background Singer, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Saxophone, Vocalist, Vocalist - Soprano, Vocalist - Tenor.ABOUT
Looking to start a Saturday-nights-only, people-with-day-jobs band. My preference is classic arena rock covers that take skill to play but are also big audience pleasers and not just fun for the band. I've played Foreplay/Long Time, Bohemian Rhapsody, Frankenstein, Carry On Wayward Son, Tom Sawyer and Barracuda live and my performance bucket list includes Magic Man, Renegade, and Owner of a Lonely Heart. so that gives you and idea of where I would like to go. Part-time musicians with advanced skills and common interests are hard to find so I can work with the skills and interests of steady hobbyists or professionals who want to play something else once in a while. I've played Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country, Rock, etc. and enjoy it all.
I have a rehearsal space in my home good for a 4-5 piece and setup for direct-in (drums are mesh heads with triggers) and individually controlled headphone monitors to keep the neighbors happy and minimize moving amps.
I'd like to find musicians who will commit Saturday nights (probably 3 per month) to rehearsal as a group (expecting that you'll do your homework.) In good weather, bring friends/family and grill on the back deck for a combination of work and fun together. I'm new to Chicago music scene, so I don't know the gigging options for a semi-professional band, but I envision getting a summer neighborhood festival gig or two and hitting a venue or party maybe 6-8 times a year. I like to perform, but want it to be fun and occasional (but also paid) in order to accommodate work/family with few conflicts.

EQUIPMENT
Professional Mapex kit with triggered mesh heads and a Roland TD-20 controller. More hardware than should be legal. Full sets of electronic and acoustic cymbals, plenty of hand percussion and additional triggers. Sennheizer wireless headphone mic and TC-Helicon vocal box with midi-keyboard controller for vocal harmony magic. 16-channel on-stage PA (controlled by iPad) with individual monitor mixers and QSC K-series mains/subs. Vocal and instrument mics/stands, plenty of cables, 10 LED lights and a fog machine with a DMX controller. PA gear good for small bars/clubs or moderate private/outdoor events. Add more speakers for larger venues.
