About

String Theory plays acoustic jam versions of popular music. Our set lists focus on classic rock covers and also draw on a variety of other genres and periods. We are a duo suitable for small to medium sized venues including pubs, cafes, restaurants, and private parties.

Tim and John prefer to alternate lead vocal duties and back each other up with harmonies. We have a high quality sound system that delivers prisitine sound so our audience can appreciate the nuances of our highly prized instruments and vocal effects.

Whatever we play, we do our own interpretations of it. We develop grooves based on rearrangements of popular songs and use them as a platform for improvisation. String Theory is often joined on stage by our honorary guest members playing a variety of instruments including electric lead, banjo, dobro, and more.

In larger venues, we often use our exclusive quadrophonic surround sound system which fully envelopes the band and the audience in sonic bliss.

Contact John, stringtheory@thewengers.net or phone (616) 897-6414 for more information about booking the band for your venue or special event.
