About
Seeking any and all auditions / musicians / projects etc. If you have an idea or are in need of this that or the other let's work together!
Always looking for a drummer or bass player!
Hey I'm Stuthedew. I'm into playing oldschool influenced heavy metal. I've been in bands since highschool. Currently working in a project called "Shadow" I've also recently been in a Motörhead tribute band called "The Motörkillers". (filling in with a local cover band called Lipstick Slick)
As for what I can do, I let my talents speak for themselves, the provided demos on this page are recorded and produced by myself. My writing process usually starts with a riff or idea, and then I'll use MIDI based drum software to get "complete" ideas down on multi-track recording. I'd say i'm pretty fluent with digital music production and video editing. I can handle leads of about any style and speed, but I don't really do sweep picking or anything off the wall like that. I use Apple's Logic, with VST's and AU software like Amplitube, Guitar Rig Addictive Drums, Superior Drummer, and Waves Audio Suite.
I've met several musicians, but I think there's always room for more people to jam and collaborate with; who knows where it could take us. My dream is to tour the united states and or world at some point in my life (wouldn't we all), but I've got to find the right situation to make that happen.
If you're interested message me at Stuthedew0 @ yahoo-dot-com. Or message me on here, Whatever ya wanna do. [You should post your information like this as well for unsubscribed users to get ahold of you, I'm usually able to respond within a week, i'm a full time student.]
Influences
Guitarists: Randy Rhoads, EVH, Chris DeGaremo, Dave Murray, K.K. Downing, George Lynch. Fast Eddie Clark, I'm kinda influenced by some Malmsteen and Michael Angelo Batio and whatnot, but I'm not really a technical dazzle kinda guy. Speed is great but melody is more important. Brian May is cool too, I always thought Queen had a cool guitar sound, but never quite got "heavy". Also a big fan of Richie Blackmore, I really like treble and grit in my tone and unique flavoring to my playing and scales. I like things right on the brink of being too heavy, and backed off just a tad.
Composition: I never really write to sound like anyone else, I just go into it and feed off everyone elses ideas, ya know. Sometimes you'll write a riff or a section that sounds like your influences, but that's just how it goes sometimes. I would classify most my work as very NWOBHM at times, but I do enjoy Crue and other American style more "hair metal" bands. Van Halen and Old Quiet Riot with Randy Rhoads are definite influences, with their whole 80's L.A. party rock sound. 70's stoner rock is a big part of my sound too. I don't like to pigeonhole myself into anything, but I'm not very well acquainted with contemporary metal and rock.
Everything Else: A stiff jack and coke, a hot babe peeling off her top, a sports car breaking 100 mph on the open highway. Lighting sh*t on fire - I'm an electronic artist, I've been put to the grind by nasty breakups and dicey situations, where a split second made all the difference. I've got a healthy obsession with sex drugs and rock n' roll - That's what it's about for me, What's the point if you're not having a good time!? This isn't an act or a masquerade. You only get one go-round in this carnival called life so make the most of it while it's right there in front of you; nobody's guaranteed tomorrow.
