About
I'm a badass little punk rock chick from Houston, Texas. I am mainly a vocalist, although if it's loud, fast, and distorted enough I can pretend almost any instrument. I'm learning guitar (slowly, would love some help there), and I'm really interested in learning bass and violin. I have a wide vocal range, I can do angry hardcore-scratchy-girl-voice to clear as a bell, old time country. I've sung blues, country, and bluegrass is a few jam bands with a bunch of crazy drunken rednecks, as well as done spot vocals in several punk bands. I've also done a lot of underground hip-hop. I'm interested in starting a punk band, in the old school style. I write my own lyrics, and have a great ear for harmony. Not looking for fame or glamour, I really am interested in bringing back the independently recorded, hand distributed, fu*k-the-industry kind of music production. I want to be infamous on the street scene, play gigs in seedy dives, and form a punk rock following that I will eventually turn into an army of brain eating zombies so that I may achieve my eventual dream of conquering the world.
Influences
Well I'm a 21 year old kid, and a child of the absolute wrong decade. Most of my influences include classic country (Johnny Cash is my favorite musician of all time, ever), blues, and early rock n' roll. I fall mainly into the niche of punk rock and metal/hardcore myself, being an angry, anti-establishment youngster and all. But as far as music goes, anything from classical (I played the clarinet, years ago), opera, to the blackest death metal there is, I have an appreciation for all of it.
Equipment List
Once again, in reference to my broke-ass youth and punk rock lifestyle, my equipment is pretty much nil. Most of the gigs I've ever done have been pick-up shows at random dives, usually nothing more than a few guitar amps and if we were really lucky, a badly wired PA. I've always been somewhat snotty about the true nature of un-amplified music, probably coming from my bluegrass roots.
I do however own a Fender guitar and a small amp (if I can ever get them back from one of my ex-bandmates..)
