-- Looking for a progressive rock band --
I've been playing bass for about six years, after starting on guitar about two years before that. Most of my skill lies in the bass, but I'm also very comfortable on the guitar in both lead and rhythm settings, I however do not have the guitar gear necessary for gigs. I have a very melodic, "lead" style of playing on the bass, due to a lot of progressive rock/metal influence. I enjoy many different styles of rock and metal, my favorites being the more progressive styles. I enjoy the challenging aspect of progressive music. As far as guitar goes, my style is more rooted in blues. I also have been dabbling on the drums for a little while as well, but still consider myself a beginner. I am a big songwriter and I'm constantly coming up with song ideas on both guitar and bass. I also love to jam and improvise.
Influences
My favorite bands are Dream Theater and Rush. Geddy Lee is my biggest influence as a bassist, in addition to Chris Squire, Cliff Burton, and Billy Sheehan. On the guitar, my big influences are Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmore, Andy Timmons, and Steve Vai.
