Nashville is historically known for its music scene. Popular sites in Nashville include the Ryman Auditorium, the CMA Music Festival, and Opryland. Its most famous claim to fame is the Grand Ole Opry. Garth Brooks, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton, just to name a few, have all performed here lending to its historical musical significance. The Country Music Hall of Fame honors music legends like Hank Williams, George Strait, Elvis Presley, and Willie Nelson. Another popular venue is the Gaylord Entertainment Center which is linked to the Nashville Convention Center, Renaissance Nashville Hotel and Church Street Centre Mall. It hosts concerts, family shows, and sporting events.
BlueBird Café, a popular live music club, has its own down home musical roots. It is a place that gives local artists a chance to perform their music. Garth Brooks once sang at the BlueBird Café before making it big in the country music world. The Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar is primarily a blues club that has its own in house band who perform live regularly. Robert’s Western World is known as the “Home of Traditional Country Music.” Famous singers like Kid Rock, Merle Haggard, Tom Petty, Tracy Byrd, Allison Kraus and Rascal Flatts have dined and caught shows there. The Station Inn is another popular live music club that specializes in bluegrass. The Station Inn is first come, first serve even for high profile musical performances.
Nashville also hosts the musical attraction Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. This huge rock festival includes a multitude of bands and musicians including Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, Dierks Bentley, Ben Harper, and many more.
