I primarily play the rhythm bones. If you do not know what they are, do a quick google search. They go best with bluegrass for me, but also can be heard in Celtic/Irish, folk, reggae, zydeco and more.
The Rhythm Bones are a lost art form and adds a very unique flavor/sound to your band. They can be used to dominate or accentuate.
I also play a few other "odd" instruments like the spoons, washboard, and am now learning the Jews harp. have been known to rip up a bongo on occasion. (:
