The Divine Resistance works hard to be an epitome of creativity and self-expression in music, critically monitoring themselves at all times to make sure that a songwriting formula is never established. The band was originally formed in a hotel room at three o'clock in the morning, when Joe Mobley and Ryan Miller dubbed the band "Lost." With the addition of Paul Fatkins on bass guitar and Mike Griffith on drums the line up was complete. The band played several shows throughout 2003 and 2004 that served to strengthen their bond. The members had a falling out in late 2004, and most of 2005 before finally remerging in 2006, surging forward with new confidence, a new singer (Josh Rule), new songs and the band name: Sanctify (www.myspace.com/sanctifymusic) Sanctify fizzled out slowly after Paul left the band. Joe, Mike and Josh later went on to perform in a friends project through summer and fall of 2008. From the Blood of Martyrs (www.myspace.com/ftbom). With a renewed faith they decided to leave that project and start their own. Winter 2008 arrived and so has The Divine Resistance. Still creating songs filled with love, tragedy and frustration with the superficiality of the world. They move in a spiritual direction as God leads them to new heights. Join them in the fight against temptation. While no man could ever resist as He did. We can all try to follow His example.
