ABOUT

This eclectic group of multi-instrumentalists from central and southern New Hampshire to the Seacoast bring back the traditional Irish songs that everyone loves to hear.

New Hampshire and Irish culture go way back. Many immigrants came across the sea to work in the mills and shipyards of towns like Manchester, Dover, and Portsmouth. When the work was through they would find themselves in some of the same NH pubs that are still around today. Music, dancing, and storytelling have kept New Hampshire's Irish community strong and alive. The Greenfields represent the pride and passion of this proud heritage. We play the jigs and reels, the rebel tunes, the ones that bring a tear, the old ones, the new ones, and the ones that make you cheer. We want YOU to have FUN all the way till closing time!

The Greenfields are available to play anywhere: barns, kitchens, backyards, basements, private parties, and corporate events. Our music has evolved out of tradition as a pastime shared among friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers in many different venues. Our music harkens back to a time when jigs and reels were regularly played for dancing, when everyone could contribute at least one spirited song to a night's festivities, and when ballads were more like epic stories told to magically transfix an entire audience near evening's end. Are you ready for a return to tradition?
