WE START AUDITIONING DRUMMERS AND GUITARISTS THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 14th!

We play a catalog of the wild, often quirky 1950s rock & roll, rockabilly, and R&B tunes that the pre-fame Beatles kicked out during their years in the rough and tumble clubs of Hamburg, Germany (1960-1962). And we’re trying out energetic, dependable, like-minded musicians on drums and lead/rhythm guitar from 9/17/2009. Naturally, we’re after the best fit, so we’ll keep looking until we find the right guys. Here are the details of the musicians we’re after:

The Drummer –
You’re rock steady, versatile, focused, and have a good ear. You can learn new tunes easily and won’t forget tempos or arrangements mid-song. It’s absolutely essential that you play a set of real acoustic drums and cymbals. Electronic/digital equipment won’t cut it for this type of music.

The Guitarist –
You’re able to handle lead/rhythm work plus share vocals. It’s vital for you to use some kind of classic guitar and amp combination (i.e., a Fender/Gibson/etc. through a tube-powered amplifier). Please, leave the solid state “modeling” amps and complicated effects pedal set-ups at home, thanks.

We’re not after record deals, fame, or touring opportunities. The band is our hobby, but we have a clear vision and want to sound tight, polished, and confident at gigs. Practices will take place in Bloomington-Normal one evening a week with live dates once or maybe twice a month when we’re ready to play out again. So, this is a prime opportunity for you career and family guys, who want to get reacquainted with your “inner rockers”.
