Since being seduced by my best friends 9 piece double bass, vintage 1979 Ludwig Rocker kit (in the 3rd grade), my adventure as a drummer began. It started with me curious to mimic Alex Van Halen crazy double bass in hot for teacher to more complex poly-rhythm's I admired from Bill Bruford and Danny Carey.
After gaining live, studio and group experience in a few bands over the span of 7 years, my desire to perform on a global level has grown into more than a passion. The best way to put into words my style is adaptive and fluid. There really isn't one particular genre I adhere to more than the other. My intuitive nature behind the kit could have me deep in a jazz groove one minute, to a thrashing metal/punk breakout, to a melodic trance, a tribal infusion or even stripped down to a bluesy/bluegrass simple breakdown the next. The other musicians in the room, from my experience, tend to determine what predominant style will prevail. This, to me, is my greatest strength.
In terms of timing, my 15+ years of experience (6 of which were spent gigging) have taught me the discipline or coordination between ear and hand, whether in a live or studio setting.
