ABOUT

Rock, country, folk and classical audiences have enjoyed Allen Ambuhl's music over the past fifty (or so) years. He is currently performing as the bassist for the bands "Red Dirt Jubilee' and 'The Reptar Files'. He has played for various bands, including 'The Humdingers', 'Southbound Riot', 'No Cattle', 'Cake For Breakfast', 'Triple Threat', 'Living The Dream (formerly Wolf/Clauss Band)', 'TKO Rock Band' and 'Good Enough'. He also regularly backs a variety of singer/songwriters on bass guitar as part of the Sweet Anarchy house band (The Tributaries) as well as Jimbro & Friends. He also plays violin and piano. In his younger years he attended Interlochen Music Camp where he studied violin with Herman Berg. Back in his native Texas he studied violin with Kelly Martino, Beatrice Stanley and Ronald Patterson. He later toured Europe with the American Youth Symphony and Chorus and performed with the Texas All-State Orchestra. More recently, Allen completed the 'Professional Bass' , 'Professional Lyric Writing', and 'Professional Music Studies' certificate programs with the Berklee College of Music. As he says, "performing both new and re-discovered music across multiple genres and generations with an interesting variety of musicians helps to keep it fresh".
