There are no mirrors or tricks here, no cover ups. When Picasso talks of “bringing his vision to life” and “being in love with music,” it’s not a sympathetic portrayal by an addition. In fact, Picasso’s talent is matched in rarity and intensity---only by his passion. His sincerity and vulnerability are refreshing, given the inert, formulaic state of music.. The question most are asking, though, is where did Picasso come from? The answer is short, rather complex: Born in Israel, Picasso Varner moved to Florida where he was raised. Being teased as a kid because of his name, Picasso learned how to be an individual and accept who he was as a person. Affectionately naming her child, Picasso’s mother, knew that he would be an artist of some façade. “One art is parallel to the other”, stated his mother. At the age of 15, Picasso began to take vocal lessons from Yakirah, who worked for LaFace Records. Over the years, Picasso had the opportunity to tour with NSYNC, perform on MTV and receive offers to sign with major record labels.
Now at the age of 24, Picasso is an intriguingly paradoxical figure, equal parts soldier, student, scion, and sage. Fortunately for his listeners, Picasso’s passion begat his full-grown debut, “The Masterpiece”. Though the record sports the requisite club-pleasers and woman-teasers - - Picasso has brought unexpected warmth to pop music. He bears, proudly and boldly, a street sensibility and bravado normally reserved for other genres of music. That versatility, genuine and uncontrived encapsulates Picasso.
His first single “Wanna Be Single” was released on Island Def Jam Digital with ground breaking second single “Lost in the Middle of Love” to be released soon, thereafter.. His premier solo CD is bound for platinum success.
