P.J. Clevenger, 39, started playing drums at the age of 10 and formed his first band at the age of 16. In 1995, P.J. auditioned for Ozzy Osbourne. In 1998, P.J.'s progressive metal band Tribal Rift, was accepted to fill the opening slot for Alice Cooper's Japanese/European tour but due to number of significant problems with Tribal Rift's manager and his inevitable termination, Tribal Rift's participation in the tour was cancelled.
In late 1998, P.J. joined San Diego metal band Voodoo Temple. In three short years, Voodoo Temple has opened for numerous national acts including Warrant, Bang Tango, Impotent Sea Snakes, Green Jelly, Puya, Stet Howland, and Randy Castillo.
