About

I am currently looking for a very experienced drummer to start working with, to begin working out songs & arrangements for a recording project of mostly originals, possibly one or two covers. I would like to find someone with experience playing jazz, even though this music won't be jazz really. Someone who is good with brushes, as there's at least one song I want brushes on. Also someone who has experience playing a lot of different percussion (and the percussion instruments available to them) since I'd like to have an acoustic feel to much of the recording and may want just percussion on something and no drum kit, depending on what we can work out.

I myself have been playing rhythm guitar and singing for over 45 years and have more stuff than I know what to do with or even actually play. I have a Roland VS 2480 24 Track Digital Recorder that will be used for the recording and can take it mobile if need be.

This wouldn't be a paid thing, but in return I would be more than happy to record anything you might want to, with anybody you might want on your recording, even at your house or studio. So if you maybe have some originals or just things you've wanted to record it could be a good opportunity get them recorded, and recorded well. I have a very good 5 pc Audix drum mic set (kick, snare, 3 toms), another Sennheiser low frequency mic for if you have two bass drums, and various condenser and/or dynamics for overheads.

I've recorded originals and some covers in the past, and used a drum machine fairly successfully, as in people who aren't musicians can't really tell, but of course those that are, and certainly a drummer can. Not being a drummer though pretty much limits me to basic beats, fills etc. Part of using a real drummer now, besides the obvious improvement in sound and feel, will be to get your input too as to how to use different beats, different drums/percussion together, and even get a different perspective of the song. So I'm definitely not going to be somebody who says, this is how the drums should go. I'm much more interested in hearing how you think they should go, since you will undoubtedly think of things that would never occur to me.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, you can contact me at tfeucht999 at sbcglobal dot net if you're interested.

Beatles, Eagles, Dylan, Lennon, Harrison, Donovan, Simon & Garfunkel, Aztec Two Step, King Crimson, Adrian Belew, Talking Heads, Zappa, Clapton, Badfinger, America, CSN and sometimes Y, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, anything from the sixties (but by the sixties I mean from about 63 to 72)... way to many to mention all of them.
