ABOUT

Every band member out there has gone from playing in their parents’ garage as a hobby to performing on stage in front of a crowd, even if that crowd consisted of five or less people. The true musicians strive to increase their number of concert attendees; until one day, with a combined effort, the masses recognize something that they like in their music. Arizona’s own, The Nightly Scene, is no exc...eption.
Two years ago, vocalist/guitarist Luis Peralta, bassist Dino Aguirre, and drummer Wyatt Irvin began rehearsing in their spare time for fun. Their main goal became to fall under no specific genre and give their style no boundaries. Peralta and Irvin were same-year graduates from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. Aguirre and Peralta met and hung out at parties in Scottsdale and Tempe, AZ. The major coincidence was that the two of them grew up in the same town of Nogales, AZ . Within no time, the trio began playing open mic nights at local bars in Tempe and Scottsdale.
For a year-and-a-half the band continued to write original material. Aguirre and Irvin began switching duties between bassist and drummer. Until February 2011, Irvin was offered the opportunity to tour with U.K. sensation, Asking Alexandria, as their assistant sound engineer. During Irvin’s absence, Aguirre and Peralta recruited a temporary drummer in an effort to continue the momentum. In May ’11, Irvin returned to Arizona after touring and the group continued to rehearse and write new material.
More recently, The Nightly Scene has competed in the Warped Tour ’11 Battle of the Bands and came out in fifty-sixth place out of two-hundered-and-eighty-seven. Towards the end of summer, TNS has also added two new additions to the group. Jesus Zuniga, (from local groups Against the Giant, For the Sake of Saying, and TexusFast) on lead guitar, as well as, Armando Arana, on backup-vocals/guitar. Both Arana and Zuniga were also raised in Nogales, AZ. Arana also happened to be a previous graduate from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. Aguirre and Arana have been long time friends and fellow bandmates in several musical groups growing up.
As far as The Nightly Scene is concerned, “People just need to listen to us,” according to frontman Luis Peralta. “I see it as a combination of the amazing music that I used to listen to growing up with a twist of what it going on today in the music scene,” says bassist/drummer Dino Aguirre. Aside from being excited to play more shows for the fans, TNS is set to release their first official EP titled ‘Miss Leading’ in December 2011.
