I am a singer/songwriter located in Alpharetta. I am a Southern California transplant, and have been in Georgia going on 7 years. I am interested in finding someone to accompany and contribute to the songs. The goal would be to perform locally and have a great time. I have written songs for many years, but in the last year I have written more than 75. They are pouring out of me. In July of 08, I purchased a small 4 track digital recording system for my home computer. I use it to capture the essence of my songs, and make no claim of being an engineer or technician when it comes to recording. I only know how to start and stop the machine, as it were! My song themes are mostly focused on relationships. I do not write political songs, nor am I interested in them. The songs are simple, yet I hear complete band arrangements in my head as I am writing them. I write through characters; My songs are not autobiographical, although parts of me show up here and there… You can check out some of my rough demos on my primitive website www.toekneetribe.com

Influences:

My influences are legion. I grew up in the 60s in LA listening to The Beatles, The Byrds and The Buffalo Springfield. Every obscure band and artist you can think of got my attention in the 70s. I started writing songs at age 17 in 1976 when Tom Petty arrived on the scene and Bruce Springsteen started getting commercial traction (I enjoyed his first 3 records, after that I didn’t get it). In short, I prefer songs that do not sound contrived.
