A Bass player's role is to play a repetitious, melodic scale in strict meter with the drummer establishing the foundation/rhythm for instrumentalists and vocals.

Most simply, I ruminate Bass Lines. Always have. Mentioning need for adequate gear, transportation etc. is superfluous.
