About

Rhythm/lead guitarist looking to start up or join a metal band. I have a pretty diverse range of influences and I am looking for musicians that are open to exploring different ideas. My style is pretty thrashy with some progressive and modern influences. I've got a ton of songs and riffs ready to go! I have a job, car, and I'm dedicated. I expect you to be the same. No drama, just music. Don't hit me up if you live too far (reasonable), have too many other obligations (too many bands, etc), or want to play radio metal. You can reach me at swallac5 @ mail . usf . edu

Of course, I'm obligated to mention that the songs I have posted are not final and are still works in progress. Let's get them done and on stage!

Yes, I do play 7 and 8-string guitars but that doesn't mean that I'm only looking for musicians with 7 or 8 strings or a 5 or 6 stringed bassist. I'm down to jam with anyone.

Influences

80s thrash metal bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament...you get the idea. They were fast and heavy but also had an epicness to their music that many bands don't have these days. Pantera, Dream Theater, Opeth, and Alice in Chains are also big influences. Some more modern bands that I'm influenced by are: Machine 'fu*kin' Head, Shadows Fall, Scar Symmetry, Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, and Nevermore. And of course, Iron Maiden!

Equipment List

Schecter Damien Elite-7 and Schecter Hellraiser C8 Special guitars. Peavey Valveking 100 head with cabinet. Still expanding my effect rack (saving for a multi effects processor). Riffworks Standard recording software (what you hear in my samples).
